Inside PopSuite: How we structure and deliver our language learning content

PopSuite isn’t just a platform — it’s a complete learning system built to reflect how real language classrooms work.

We’ve spent over five years building a comprehensive content library that draws from ACTFL proficiency benchmarks, curriculum research, and collaboration with educators. Our goal? To support teachers with flexible, high-quality content that’s easy to use and delivers real results.

Here’s how our content system works — and what it means for you and your students.

Structured by Proficiency— Built with Flexibility 🔻🤸

PopSuite’s content library is organized by ACTFL proficiency levels, from Novice Low to Intermediate and beyond. Within each level, you’ll find curriculum-aligned units that group high-frequency vocabulary, verbs, and grammar points into meaningful themes like Hobbies and Activities, “Tener” Expressions, and Possessive Adjectives.

Each unit contains a curated list of target concepts — individual words, verbs, or grammar terms that learners need to master. When previewing a unit, that’s all you’ll see: the list of target concepts. But beneath each one is a full repository of content, built to present that concept in multiple modes, formats, and levels of complexity.

Think of each target concept as a launchpad, not just a term.

What’s Inside a Unit? 📦

Every unit is delivered as a series of adaptive, daily sessions. These sessions pull from a pool of assets tied to the unit’s target concepts. The number of concepts introduced per session varies — for vocab lessons, units can have up to 40+ target concepts, with each target concept coming with an average of 5 different variations. For grammar and verb lessons, it’s usually closer to 10 targets, with each concept containing anywhere from 10-40 variations for that unit.

So— each target concept has 5 to 35+ assets behind it. What do these “assets” include? Here’s are some examples:

  • Native speaker audio (for all concepts and their associated sentences, phrases, and audio clips)

  • Real-life visuals (professionally sourced and selected to minimize confusion)

  • Fill-in-the-blank activities

  • Sentence construction tasks

  • Audio-only listening gameplays

  • Visual/audio association tasks

  • Alphabet-style learning activities for new learners

  • Grammar-sensitive sentence examples with gender/number agreement

Let’s take a look at the five variations of verde that will appear over the course of our Adjectives I unit— these variations will each appear multiple times throughout daily sessions, with harder variations appearing later and all variations spaced strategically based on learner performance:

Spaced Repetition: Not Just a Buzzword— A Proven Study Method 🔁

Our spaced repetition engine is at the heart of how content plays. It’s not just about repeating concepts — it’s about strategic variation and recall.

  • New concepts appear more frequently.

  • Missed or misunderstood material resurfaces with shorter intervals.

  • Mastered material is spaced out, but revisited later in different formats.

  • Input modes are varied intentionally: audio, visual, sentence-level, multiple choice.

For example: azul might show up in a listening activity on Day 1, a sentence fill-in on Day 2, and a sentence builder on Day 3 — keeping learners engaged while reinforcing the core idea from different angles.

Quality Content—Ready To Use,
Or Yours To Customize
📚✏️

If you’re looking for structure, PopSuite offers a research-backed curriculum pathway based on real classroom trends and ACTFL progression logic. But the experience is entirely flexibleunits don’t have to be done in order, and teachers can choose to build their own lessons using PopStack, our custom lesson builder.

PopStack lets you:

  • Select specific target concepts across levels or units.

  • Choose which gameplay formats to include.

  • Swap visuals, audio clips, sentences, and distractors.

  • Exclude entire modes (e.g. turn off audio-based tasks).

  • Mix and match to align with your own lesson plans.

It’s as customizable as you need — with none of the setup hassle. You bring the vision, we bring the infrastructure.

Plus: Quizzes, Games & Real-Time Tracking 🎮

Every concept in PopSuite can be reused to:

  • Build custom assessments (formative or summative) or power multiplayer games (in PopQuiz)

Meanwhile, every student interaction is tracked:

  • Which concepts they’ve mastered

  • Where they’re struggling

  • Daily completion and overall progress

  • Retention scores

  • Quiz performance (question by question)

That data feeds directly into teacher dashboards (via PopTeams), giving you a clear, ongoing picture of what’s working and what needs reinforcement. Here’s an example of how that data will appear in your PopTeams library:

TLDR:

PopSuite is organized by ACTFL levels and inspired by years of research into how real teachers’ execute their language curriculums.

While PopSuite’s pathways are inspired by real-world trajectories, they are fully flexible. Teachers can follow the course outlined, mix it up, and even build their own custom lessons to fit their exact lesson plans.

Each target concept contains a repository of assets — not just a single question pertaining to each term.

Units are delivered in adaptive, session-based chunks with varied input modes. Each day, students will see personalized daily sessions appear in their PopStudy dashboards automatically.

A spaced repetition engine powers personalized review. It uses strategic reinforcement cycles to target learning gaps with more repetitions, while minimizing time spent on concepts they already know.

You can build your own lessons with full control — and zero busywork. The assets we sourced – like all of our questions, sentences, and material, our images, and our audio – is all available in PopStack, ensuring quality and accuracy and eliminating the need to source material.

Content works across lessons, games, and assessments — by simply selecting the unit or units you’d like to include, you can generate assessments that will pull from all the material shown throughout the unit(s) you choose.

All completion and performance data across every learning and assessment activity is captured by live data, which feeds into teachers’ PopTeams account to keep them informed and on top of their students’ progress.
